It is hard to think about why there are dogs born into such unfortunate lives. At a very young age, this pooch named Spencer has gone through so much pain and suffering. The Doberman is a stray dog who scavenged food on the busy streets of South Carolina.
While Spencer was doing his usual scavenging one day, the dog got struck by a rushing car. The driver did not stop and left Spencer wincing in so much pain. Fortunately, some kind bystanders attended to the pup and brought him to a nearby clinic.
When he arrived at the Paws and Claws veterinary clinic, the vet and the staff confirmed that the dog had broken his back. But the results of his x-ray and other tests showed several other injuries. Aside from the broken back, the dog also sustained injuries on his head and legs. Later on, these wounds were stitched to prevent getting infected.
With the dog’s condition, the vet who checked on him sought the VCA Animal Specialty Center’s help. The vets in this specialty center are trained to deal with complicated cases like that of Spencer’s. After checking on the dog, the vet said that since the Doberman is still young, a surgery could repair his spine.
Jackie O’Sullivan, the founder of the New York-based Rescue Dogs shelter, heard about Spencer’s condition. She then used her influence to raise enough money for the dog’s surgery and rehabilitation.
Fortunately, monetary assistance started to pour in for the dogs, enough to finance his surgery. The dog’s back surgery was successful, and it only took over a month for the dog to fully recover. After the dog’s recovery, he got adopted by a loving home. With this, Jackie is happy for the pup because Spencer will now have a loving family.
