Most stray dogs don’t really know what it’s like to be part of a family. They also don’t know how to interact with humans and how to behave inside a home. The concept of having a family is strange to them, and they need a lot of help to adjust before they can get adopted.
A rescue dog named Evie was found as a stray. Evie was in pretty rough shape when animal control officers found her, and she was also brought to a high-kill shelter. Thankfully, Evie was pulled by an LA-based nonprofit animal rescue organization and was given a second chance to find a loving family and forever home.
Evie was fostered by a loving family who made her feel like a part of the pack. However, Evie didn’t adjust to her new life instantly. When Evie first came to her foster home, she didn’t know what to do. Evie didn’t interact with her foster family, and she also slept a lot.
Evie’s foster parents knew that Evie needed time to adjust, and they decided to give Evie some space. Evie was unsure about everything, but her foster family clearly saw that Evie is such a sweet dog. After a few more days, Evie started warming up when she realized that she’s finally in a safe place.
Evie’s foster parents also had another dog named Tuna who helped Evie feel welcome in her foster home. It didn’t take long for Evie to become more confident with herself, thanks to Tuna. Thanks to her foster family, Evie got stronger and finally became ready to find her forever home.
After a month of living with a loving foster family, Evie’s finally found her forever home. She’s been adopted by a lovely family who had another dog that adores Evie and two kids that loves playing with Evie. Here’s a heartwarming video showing how rewarding to become a foster parent for a rescue dog.
