Celebrities doing fun things with their dogs makes for good entertainment. That’s why the television network SBS TV collaborated with Choi Yoojung from the South Korean girl group Weki Meki. The celebrity brought her dogs to a training facility where a trainer assisted her in making her dogs more well-behaved.
Yoojung has two dogs, a poodle named Mangtto, and a Pekingese named Bokman. Bokman seems like an obedient dog, but he still needs to improve his behavior. Mangtto, on the other hand, has problematic habits.
When Mangtto sees another dog, he likes to charge towards them. He tends to be aggressive towards other dogs. Because of him, Bokman will often get carried away, and both dogs become chaotic.
Yoojung met with a famous animal behaviorist and veterinarian named Seol Chae Hyun. She told him all her problems with Mangtto. Yoojung also expressed how she wants to be a positive influence on other dog owners.
The vet listened and told Yooojung a few interesting dog facts before they began the training. According to Seol Chae Hyun, most dog owners tend to abandon dogs with behavioral problems. After the short discussion, the vet and Yoojung went outside to work on Mangtto’s social skills.
The first step towards Mangtto’s improvement was narrowing down his personal space. The smaller his personal space becomes, the less likely he is to be aggressive towards other dogs. Another dog was brought outside to interact with Mangtto.
At first, Mangtto was very aggressive towards the other dog. However, the other dog didn’t care and stayed calm. After a while, Mangtto was able to sit close to the other dog and socialize with him.
The next step of the training was to improve Mangtto’s behavior while he was in a different location than the other dog. Mangtto was placed inside the building while he was overlooking another dog outside through a glass window. Mangtto had to ignore the dog that was outside.
It took a while for Mangtto to ignore the other dog completely. Treats were used to reward him every time he successfully ignored the dog from outside. Mangtto was showing signs of improvement by the end of the training. For more details, the full training process can be seen in the video below.
