Discipline is an important virtue to teach our dogs, especially if you have more than one pet at home; you don't want them to be too unruly, just as anyone would be with children. But at times when we catch them doing naughty things, we just can't help but laugh about it.
Getting your pet to confess to misbehavior is a different level of difficulty. Aside from the fact that your dogs can't speak, you can't really get an obvious sign that would indicate guilt. That's unless you're a repeat offender like this guilty dog named Denver.
When dad found a discarded cat treat on the floor, he instantly knew it was one of the dogs who stole the snack. What happened was, while dad was out, someone snuck into the kitty treats. It was obviously bitten and opened in a way only a dog could, so dad tried to get a confession from his two pups.
Suspect number one was Macy. When dad asked if she did the crime, and showed her the evidence, the canine couldn't look directly at him. Macy may have a slight look of guilt in her, but that's because she has witnessed what happened. Although she couldn't tell her side of the story, she nudged off dad's question with pride.
Dad then moved to suspect number two, Denver. As soon as dad looked at him, he squinted his eyes and wagged his tail, trying to stay away from dad's confrontation, but the persistent dad came near Denver. The doubtful pooch closed his eyes to avoid eye contact, scared that dad might see through his guilt.
With Denver's eyes closed and his head bowed down as dad came to him holding the evidence, he knew there's no way out of this. Disappointed, dad asked Denver to look at him, but shame was eating him too much that the dog decided to try getting his way out of it. Denver used the ‘cute card' by grinning, still with eyes closed.
Without a doubt, Denver was to blame for the stolen cat treat. As punishment, he was sent to prison, aka the kennel, where he had to reflect about not disobeying dad again next time.
Cuteness won't always bail you out of trouble, Denver!
