A local rescuer named Ermioni heard about a puppy that fell in a ditch. The ditch was located deep in a wooded area, which makes the path hard to walk through.
The ditch was difficult to reach since there was a hill that Ermioni and her team had to climb. Ermioni even needed a walking stick to help support her in walking. That's how difficult the road was.
When they got to the puppy, they saw that the ditch truly was deep for the canine. This prevented it from climbing back up.
Ermioni reached out to the puppy with the help of her companions. Ermioni's companion had to support her to make sure she does not fall in the ditch as well. Ermioni is thankful that the puppy was friendly enough not to resist her help.
Ermioni successfully pulled out the dog from the ditch. If it was hard for Ermioni to go down the hill to get the dog, it was harder to climb it. Once they were out of the woods, Ermioni went straight to the vet so she can have the puppy checked.
The puppy was found out to be dehydrated and malnourished. It was also full of ticks and fleas. These were removed in the clinic.
The puppy was then brought to the shelter. The shelter is not the ideal place for a puppy to grow up in, but its better than being alone in a ditch.
Though the puppy is living in a shelter, the people there do the best they can to make the dog's stay comfortable. One of the things that Ermioni does is come in every now and then to play with the little canine.
Ermioni would also train the puppy. This is essential so they can adjust well to their future family. Living in the shelter is just temporary. One day, the puppy will find its forever home and be the happiest dog.
