Many animal shelters across the United States hold Black Friday every quarter of the year. During this time of the year, adoption fees are waived to make way for mass adoption. Dog lovers wait for this event to take place to adopt additional pets to add to their family.
Best Friends Animal shelter is one of the many shelters that join this quarterly event. The animal shelter caters to different kinds of animals, but most of the time, all their rescue animals are dogs. In one of their rescue operations, the shelter’s volunteers dealt with a dog named Bryan. When the volunteers found Bryan in a dumpster, they thought not anything is wrong with the pup.
But when the volunteers started calling the dog, Bryan did not respond. It turned out that the pup was blind and deaf. It only became apparent to the volunteers when they brought the dog to a nearby animal clinic.
Even with the dog’s disability, Bryan exudes with so much confidence. Bryan is also friendly towards other dogs in the animal shelter. When the Black Friday came, volunteers were eager to find the dog a potential home.
But there are several things that the volunteers face. The volunteers knew that it would be difficult for the pup to find a new home because of his condition. True enough, after the adoption event, Bryan was left alone at the shelter.
Fortunately, before the shelter decided to wrap up, Pattie Mooers and her husband arrived at the shelter. The couple was there to adopt the last dog available, and it was Bryan. When the couple saw the pup, they were elated. This is because Pattie and her husband are fans of German Shepherd. The couple immediately built an instant connection with Bryan and welcomed the dog with open arms despite the latter’s disability.
